Terms and conditions


  • There is a non-refundable booking fee of 50% of the service cost which is payable at the time of signing the booking agreement and booking my services. This holds the date and the time for both parties. The balance of the remaining 50% is due to be paid in full, prior to the ceremony. A date is not confirmed until the deposit has been paid. Any deposits paid to me are non-refundable. I can however change your date if needs be to another month or year, if I have the availability.
  • Please understand and recognise that the I perform other ceremonies and that any change of date, time or location, without first notifying me may create a conflict with my schedule.
  • It is important to understand that my wedding ceremonies are not legally binding. You will need to have a civil ceremony at some stage of the process in order to be legally married. Most couples have a low-key statutory marriage registration in their local registry office first, followed by the celebration of their marriage with me. The legal registration can be done at any time; however, I require it to of been completed before your ceremony with me.
  • If a cancellation or change is made by the couple with less than 48 hours prior to the ceremony, the entire fee as contracted will be due.
  • Likewise, the celebrant commits to refunding the deposit if for any reason she is unable to go ahead with the booking and if no replacement can be found.
  • SJW maintains full copyright of the written ceremony but allows the couple to use and share it for their own personal use after the ceremony.
  • SJW respectfully asks to be granted permission to use any appropriate wedding photographs, testimonials, and your ceremony story for publicity purposes, including and not limited to: publishing on websites, blog posts, Facebook and Instagram.
  • I take the privacy and security of individuals and their personal information very seriously and takes every reasonable measure and precaution to protect and secure the personal data that is processed. According to the GDPR laws the celebrant adheres to safeguarding all personal data. Personal details (name, address, and contact information) will be kept securely for 12 months after the ceremony date. It will then it be securely removed from any systems and paper documents will be shredded.

She writes, curates and delivers wedding, baby naming, adoption, gender transition, memorial and funeral ceremonies. Shelley cares deeply about inclusivity within the wedding and funeral industry. She is able to offer non-religious ceremonies that reflect an individual belief.
